There is probably too much acidity in your digestive system so perhaps an alkaline diet might help.

Are you eating too fast? Have poor eating habits? Are the foods spicy? Are you not drinking enough water? Are you eating too much fast food or junk food?

    Does Tums take it away?

Sometimes when you eat too fast and do not chew your food well, you swallow a lot of air, and I know the condition and do not know how to spell it. Sounds like aerophasia(air swallowing)
Chew your food more thoroughly and take your time. Sips of water believe it or not helps "put out the fire".

I would start by looking at the spicy and acidic foods. They usually cause this for me. Try eating plainner foods such as potatoe, meat and vegetables, sandwiches, banana’s and try drinking milk if your not lactose intollerent. Once this calms down go to a Homeopatic doctor and see if you have any allergies to any particular foods. They really are great for identifying the cause of the problem. Usually turns out to be Yeast

sometimes it’s not the food you have eaten, but the position you ate it in.
for example, crouched, laying down after or even leaning on your side.
